En Masse have just posted up on their official website that a new patch is now available for download that will be adding a whopping 7GBs of high-resolution textures to Tera Online, a action-orientated MMO.
While you're waiting for our second closed beta test to arrive on February 24, you can start patching your beta client to get ready right now! Patch 16.03.04 introduces a number of fixes and adds high-resolution textures to the game. Since this latest patch is 7 GB in size, we're giving everyone ample time to download it before the second closed beta test begins.
Among the high-resolution textures being added to the game, En Masse has also been able to squash a few annoying bugs, and also posted a list of known issues.

You can check out the full list of patch notes over here, or check out this thread where some users have posted feedback from the last closed beta test, as well as in-game videos.

So it wasn't just a rumour. Man those textures were good enough already but even higher quality ones? Score!

Anyone played it yet? Whats it like? Standard MMO feel? I am not keen on action MMOs.

I'll repost my little spiel of my thoughts, but overall it's very action like, you can't really stand in the one spot unless you want to soak in the damage, and skills actually matter.

Combat -

Combat is fun, it's different and it's hard. I rolled a Baraka Priest, so I'm this massive huge dude shooting off spells. The UI is done well with the combat, in that the skill slots are easy to use, you can assign any spell to your mouse button 1 or 2 that you see fit and you also use the tab key for any spell you desire. There is no targeting, it's purely crosshair and hit scanning. If your spell misses the target, it misses. If the target tries to hit you and you dodge, you take no damage.

I'm only level 5 so far, due to server issues making it hard to get on and have a decent play through, but from what I've tried, the AI combat is pretty crappy, but that might be due to low levels and wanting to introduce you to the mechanics of the game.

UI -

The User Interface is something I've never seen before. Everything is customisable and oh boy is it awesome being allowed to move stuff around to how I want it. In the option menu you can actually increase or decrease the UI scale, which is really good for making certain things smaller (health bars and mini map to name). Overall it's smart, it says everything, nothing isn't really "cluttered" like in WoW when I use to raid and it has everything I need.

Character classes -

I've only been able to play Priest so far due to 1 character limit, but when creating a class, you can see each classes abilities and what they are mainly "used" for. Every class can heal or tank or deal damage, but certain classes are just better off. There are two different "tanks", the Warrior and the Lancer. Warrior is the tank that actually tries to dodge and keep focus, where as the Lancer will try and absorb the damage while dealing damage and holding agro.

PVP and Pings -

I haven't been able to fully try out PVP, but I did try a few duels, and oh boy is the Priest terrible at dealing damage to anything but a NPC. This is obviously something that will hopefully get better as you grow more powerful, but I also think I rolled the wrong class for PVPing. Pings are fine, I get around 200ms and the combat hasn't lagged once besides a server crash. Everything is responsive, when I was dueling I didn't feel like I was lagging out, and using my heals was quick to respond.

Overall, I'll be enjoying this MMO quite a lot. The character creation is amazing, the landscapes are beautiful, and everything just seems to work well. Today/Sunday I'll hopefully be able to try out the crafting and see what that is like, but from what I've seen in YouTube videos I won't be disappointed. Also I noticed you can setup stores like in Aion, to sell your wares, which is always great.

There is more to come however, as apparently there will be guild housing, guild pvp, server vs server pvp, politics which I really want to have a look into, and raids are being added. Also of note is that the levels 1-40 experience are being fully revamped in time for open beta, so what I'm experiencing now will be completely different come then.

Might be worth a look when it goes retail.

Just my thoughts on classes I got up to at least Lv 9 in the 1st test.

Mystic - got this guy up to 9 and was quite fun to play. A little slow until 6 when you open up your 2nd AoE attack, but after that wasn't hard at all. You even get 3 types of pets which last for 10 minutes or until they die which either tank, ranged dps or heal. This on top of your main heal spell you get which involves you dropping an orb that puts a pretty powerful HoT on you (something like 110hp every second for 8 seconds at lv 1). I didn't get this far but at 14 you unlock an AoE dot spell, and later on you get a number of aura buffs, some of which will make you loved by party members such as 2x crit rate buff.

Archer - Lv 10 for this guy and while it didn't have the sheer destroying capability of a slayer or berserker flat out, that isn't the point of the class. Archers don't do burst damage but rather are sustained dps. I found their Lock-On ability which you get at Lv 2 to be nothing more than a on-the-move minion killer as it does only normal attack damage but up to 5 things at once. Would be better if it was an AoE rather I feel but eh. Possibly going to be my main. I loved it after I worked out how to avoid mana issues. They get at least 2 charge up attacks which pierce numerous targets so you will learn how to kite as this class or die quite a bit.

Lancer - This was the highest class I got, up to Lv 12 1/2 and is the main tank of the game. Really enjoyed it and found myself seriously thinking about being a tank once retail hits. Since your tank you don't do great dps but rather tons of small hitting attacks, such as your main drill attack hitting 3x times, then 2x, then 3x again. Your shield can block a huge amount of damage before it breaks (my green weapon from a quest could block up to about 1300 damage) and if you're quick enough on block, can take no damage while leveling. Killing speed was slow compared to say a sorcerer who is all AoE damage but I felt this class was a powerhouse none the less as some attacks were effected by when you used them. Great class.

1 thing I worked out on the last day of the test was that you could set up combos for abilities. Easiest way to describe it would be to say that I could tell my game that after I used charge, the next attack I always wanted to use would be an AoE to grab monster agro. Every time I used charge from then on it would alert me with an icon next to my character for a few seconds to let me know I can use the ability now by hitting spacebar. About 3 seconds without pressing it though rebinds space to jump though. So with that in mind you really could have 10 attacks set up with only 6 buttons.

Cheers guys, well interested in this, my main concern was how latency would effect the whole action part of the game but sounds like it was a non issue.
