Tim Schafer, the founder of Double Fine who produced the cult classic title Pyschonauts, told Digital Spy earlier in the month on wanting to create a sequel to the squirrel burning game, however couldn't find a publisher to secure a deal.
"I mean I get a lot of, on Twitter or whatever, daily questions about Psychonauts 2. And I would love to do Psychonauts 2, I've actually pitched that to publishers several times and no-one has taken the bait so far," he told Digital Spy.
However, the sun may still shine upon Tim Schafer and Double Fine Studios, as Markus Persson (better known as "Notch") has stated on his twitter that he is eager to make Pyschonauts 2 happen (and he's serious).

This kind of gesture can only mean good things, and something that a lot of people are eagerly hoping to be true. We will keep you updated on whether or not Tim Schafer accepts this awesome offer from Notch.

Please let this happen. Psychonauts needs a sequel. That milkman level was one of the best levels ever.

Heh Psychonauts was actually quite the entertaining game back in the day - essentially a simple platformer that was executed very nicely and uniquely enough to make it interesting, funny and charming.
