The 4.3.2 patch for World of Warcraft has landed, offering the usual swag of fixes, balance tweaks, and new features. Some of the more interesting ones seem to do with dungeons and raids:
  • You can now form same-faction raids with Real ID friends, allowing you to enter Raid Finder in groups larger than 5, run older normal or heroic raids, or participate in Battlegrounds. You will not yet be able to run normal or heroic Dragon Soul with cross-realm raids of Real ID friends.
  • Several typo fixes and clarified descriptions have been added to the Dungeon Journal entries for Dragon Soul.
  • Players can no longer win multiple copies of the same item on a single Raid Finder boss kill. For example, a player who chooses Need on two set piece tokens or two weapons and wins the first, will not be eligible for the second on that particular boss.
I also particularly like this one: "A notice is now displayed 15 minutes prior to the player being disconnected by parental controls." So gamers getting yoinked off the PC by their parents get that one last little hurrah before bedtime kicks in.

Check out the full list of changes for the details.

LOL at all the people in that WOW thread talking about the massive performance increases they received after running 64bit client instead of 32bit ...

Awesome. Haven't loaded WoW up since Monday and now I have to download a 1.3gig patch. What could possibly be this big and worthwhile to download?

The patch isn't 1.3gig, what it did do before the patch was optimise the install then it re-downloads files it needs (repair) some people had 3gig downloads, I needed 2.5gig and my brother only needed 57meg (being new install)

Oh I see. That's damn cool. It just took 6gig off my WoW folder which is awesome. Just compared it to my backup folder on my other drive. Well done Blizzard!

Wouldn't that mean that they can then access more than ~4GB of memory from in game?

I don't think I'll worry about the 64bit client until there's a proper release for it. Plus are there any advantages over the 32bit one which works perfectly fine?

Yeah that's correct but since none of the games threads ever use that much alone it doesn't matter.

wrong

and for many people it does run nicer, depending on the amount of ram they have over 4gb or so and what else they have running alongside wow. if you can't understand why, just say so or go have a read about it instead of spouting more tripe
