Microsoft have announced some new look revamps to both the official media remote and the wireless headset for the Xbox 360, set to his shelves this November, noteably six years after consoles launch.

The media remote appears to be largely cosmetic with the new version featuring a shiny black finish to match the slimline 360, although it does include a couple of extra buttons intended for the "Live TV" features of the console, such as the Foxtel services in Australia. The Wireless headset however, now also has the ability to function on both the Xbox 360 as well as other general bluetooth devices (such as handsfree for supported mobile phones etc). This is something that the official PlayStation 3 headset has been able to do since day one, but unlike the PS3, the Xbox 360 console doesn't support bluetooth itself so its nice that they've gone to effort to include this additional functionality.

We don't have localised pricing or release dates yet, but the U.S. launch for both peripherals is "early November 2011" at USD$59.99 for the headset and USD$19.99 for the remote. Speculating purely off Xbox's track-record, it's reasonably safe to expect a few weeks delay at the least and inflated prices for an Australian release but we'll let you know once we find out.

Xbox's Major Nelson has more details over on his blog, including a short unboxing video of the headset. Or you can hit the images below for a closer look.
