The current mess of rumours around the internet suggest so, with Nintendo's Wii U being blamed as the catalyst for Sony potentially cutting their projected 10-year-long life-cycle for the PS3 with an all-new console.
According to a report on DigiTimes
, Taiwan-based partners ousted the new console, with Sony again teaming up with the likes of Foxconn and Pegatron Technology, both of whom worked on the PS3. It's also reported that the PS4 will have "body movement-based control like Kinect" and that production would begin "at the end of 2011 for launch in 2012". Of course, like so much rumour on the internet, take this with a massive grain of salt, and Sony have been adamant in the past they're sticking to the decade-long plan, but you never know in this business.
Stay tuned for more on this as it either develops, or diminishes.
