The promised DirectX 11 patch fo Crysis 2 is due to arrive on June 27, and will feature a massive visual overhaul for the already pretty title. According to Crytek, the patch will feature a new high-res texture and tessellation patch which will bring the game to version 1.9. Though in the meantime, here are the full patch notes that will come with the 1.9 upgrade:

    • Sprite Based Bokeh Depth of Field
    • Parallax Occlusion Mapping

  • Fixed issue in MP where player stats would sometimes randomly reset

  • Fixed issue with JAW rocket not firing through window's containing broken glass
  • Fixed rare issue where a user could not access MP with a valid CD key if they had previously used an invalid CD key
  • Improved advanced graphics options menu

Well looks like i'll re-install crysis 2 and actually aim to finish it this time. I got excited that this comes out on my birthday but then realised it'll be the 28th for us.

For those of us who have the Steam version, no actual confirmation of this patch getting rolled out to us yet. As long as it doesn't break the stupid activation limit (TAGES SolidShield? Bah!).

Crysis 2 ain't on Steam anymore Blaze. So may not get updates through them. And isn't this a bit to late?
