Over the weekend at an event held in San Francisco, news came to light regarding the forthcoming Marvel Comics MMO, Marvel Universe.

According to reports, the game will be a free-to-play MMO and is being developed by a team constructed specifically for the game called Secret Identity (clever, nay?). It was also revealed that much of the game's narrative content would be handled by veteran comic-book writer, Brian Michael Bendis, and that many of the game's quests would be based on scenarios specifically pulled from the pages of actual comics. At launch, the game's antagonist will be Dr. Doom and players can pretty much play as anyone in the Marvel universe, though it's likely end-game content will evolve over time (Apocalypse would be better IMO).
