Bethesda and id Software have released a new trailer for RAGE, the long-awaited post apocalyptic first person shooter and id's first major title since Doom 3 in 2004. Today's clip is the first new footage from the game we've had since last year's E3 and although it's perhaps not as awe-striking as when id first debuted their "id tech 5" engine back in 2007
, it's still arguably right there at the forefront of graphical prowess in 2011.
RAGE features intense first-person shooter action, breakneck vehicle combat, an expansive world to explore and jaw-dropping graphics powered by id’s revolutionary id Tech™ 5 technology. Set in the not-too-distant future after an asteroid impacts Earth, you emerge into a vast wasteland to discover humanity working to rebuild itself against such forces as bandit gangs, mutants, and more. From the pioneers of first-person shooter gameplay, RAGE promises an experience like no other.
Check out the trailer, titled "Untethered" -- which features and original backing-track titled Burning Jacob’s Ladder

Rage is due on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in Australian on September 15 2011.
