Following up Monday's announcement of the "Balls of Steel" collector's edition for Duke Nukem Forever, 2K Games have now sent word of some pre-order benefits that select Australian and New Zealand retailers will be offering up to those who want to front up early for either edition of the game.

As has been the recent trend, different retailers are offering different incentives, so (assuming you don't mind suffering Australian retail prices for your game) you'll have to choose wisely to receive the right Duke merch. Here's the skinny:
Australia:
  • EB GAMES – Duke’s Big Package - Unlocks in-game EGO boost, Big Head Mode and T-Shirt pack
  • GAME – Duke Nukem Forever ‘speaking’ key ring.
  • JB HiFi – Duke Nukem Forever ‘bottle-opener’ baseball cap.
New Zealand:
  • EB GAMES – Duke’s Big Package - Unlocks in-game EGO boost, Big Head Mode and T-Shirt pack
  • Mighty Ape (online e-tailer) – Duke Nukem Forever ‘bottle-opener’ baseball cap.
  • JB HiFi – Duke Nukem Forever sunglasses.
In addition, those who pre-order from EB GAMES will be granted admission to the Duke Nukem Forever First Access Club, whose members will gain access to the Duke Nukem Forever consumer demo prior to the general public.

For a full list of pre-order and point of purchase incentives, please visit www.dukenukemforever.com/preorder.
You can find full details in the press release and some images of the merch items in question right here. There's no mention of what happens if you have an existing pre-order from 1998 though!

Duke Nukem Forever is due on May 6th 2011 for PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

Anyone else get this strange feeling that if you pre-order, something is likely to go horribly wrong?

Have they said it will be on steam.

I refuse to pay more than $50 for a game and I realy want to play this.

I'd say it will be on steam cause, if memory serves me right, it uses steamworks. Could be horribly mistaken

Sickkkk its a steamworks game. http://www.vg247.com/2011/02/16/duke-nukem-forever-requires-steam-log-in/

So even if you wanna get that cheesy crap but awesome collectors edition you can still have the game on steam.
