Microsoft have once again secured another Xbox Live exclusive, this time in the form of a multiplayer demo for Crysis 2, which is due to land on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 March 24. The demo will be available for download the day after Australia Day, January 26.
The Crysis 2 Multiplayer Demo will feature the “Skyline” map, and two game modes; “Team Instant Action” and “Crash Site”. “Team Instant Action” pits two teams against each other as they kill as many opponents as possible to earn higher ranks. In “Crash Site”, players will battle for control of alien drop pods, earning points by guarding their pods and keeping enemies at bay.

Developed by Crytek UK, Crytek’s specialist multiplayer studio, Crysis 2 multiplayer will include six gameplay modes and 12 maps set across recognizable locations in New York City. Throughout the campaign, players can earn up to 50 multiplayer ranks and a variety of different upgrades to their weapons and their Nanosuit.
There's no word on the likelihood of any such demo arriving for the PC or the PS3, but stay tuned for more info on the game as its release draws near. We also have a new trailer showing off the multiplayer you can watch embedded below, or stream in HD by clicking here

That sliding mechanic with the whole super suit thing reminds me a lot of the one in Vanquish. (Awesome futuristic single player shooter btw).

Or Mirrors Edge Match. Anyways, looks like shit, and will be just another consolized PC title. Crytek didn't know how to make a story for Crysis 1, what makes this one any different.

Looks like shit? Bit harsh I think. It might not be to your liking but is it really that bad? I personally, had multiple orgasms watching that trailer.

Eh, I'm over the whole "we made this game so nothing can play it". But saying it looks like shit is a bit over top, sorry. I think Crysis 1 and Warhead just made me eh at it all now.

No need to apologize mate. I was just questioning the extent to which you don't like it, is all.

"we made this game so nothing can play it" - What exactly does that mean? I've never played a Crysis game yet and I've never been to interested in any of them until now because Crysis 2 multi platform.

Crysis 1 required a super computer to begin with. It was basically made for benchmark testing and that was it.

Ah ok makes a little more sense now.

I'm downloading what I think is this demo right now. It's in Game's on demand's demo section under "Crysis 2 Closed Beta Multi player Demo".
