It's a rather slow news day today on account of the Thanksgiving holiday in the U.S. However, the PR wheels were still rolling in Europe and Asia though and Crytek have announced their latest project: an online free-to-play shooter called Warface.

Developed at Crytek Seoul, Warface is powered by the impressive CryEngine 3 tech but appears to be only targetted at the South Korean audience for the time being.
Warface provides gamers with a constantly updated extensive PVE universe full of dramatic multiplayer co-op missions, a full set of class based PVP and will be available for PC. This new Crytek IP is especially dedicated to the Korean and other Asian markets and is co-produced by Crytek Seoul. Warface is supported by a free-to-play business model.
Whether we'll see this one in Australia, or the Western market at all for that matter likely depends on its success in asia. Click here for a couple of screenshots.

that's odd considering that both crysis & crysis:warhead were all about slaughtering koreans in the single player... maybe in this stupidly named 'warface' (lol) you are a korean that gets to slaughter caucasians.

I really hate that all games of this type are being simply cloned.. anytime you take a chance on one that might be different it turns out that it is boring run and gun nonsense.

No real skill is needed and always harbours a really unfriendly online community even if it is popular.

Give us something new and different developers!

Run and gun, prone and snipe, turn based heal for 50 hp, casting bars. Theres various ways to structure gameplay, not sure what you are asking for?

But I'd imagine it will be quite a nice looking game comparitive to other free shooters currently available if its running cryengine 3.

I've been waiting for an MMOFPS but this is a pay-to-win game so it already fails.
