The nautically themed Pirates of the Burning Sea will soon be
free to play:
On or around November 22, 2010, PotBS will become a free to play game, with an optional monthly membership plan called the Captain's Club at a cost of $14.99 per month (plus applicable taxes). This means that new PotBS players will no longer need to purchase the game client or a subscription to access and play much of the game.
Please note that PotBS is consequential PvP meaning if you ship gets sunk you lose it and your cargo. The player/s who sink you get the cargo. Client can be downloaded from their site.
No crying in the red zone.
I'll be in game from about the time it goes F2P just look for me, yes I'm called Hurricane Jim (Pirate).

You won't get burned in the first four minutes. In fact you won't be able to pvp until lvl 10 or so. You can always just duel people either in avatar or ship. I does have a large learning curve but just remember this keep out of the red zone and you'll be safe.
Try it you'll either like it or hate it. It's not a fantasy mmo like WoW or AoC, it's based on real life sailing ships and sword fighting. If you like an mmo with detailed crafting, called production, or large ship battles then you will probably enjoy it.
Only Antigua and Roberts servers left.
