Blizzard have finally lifted the lid on their official Cataclysm launch date, letting us know the game-changing expansion Cataclysm will hit retail this December 7th. The new expansion reshapes much of the game's environments; offering up all-new quests and opportunities for long-time players. It has also been in beta testing for several months, which means it's likely going to roll out pretty much spot-on thanks to Blizzard's usual focus on balance and quality.

"Cataclysm includes the best content we've ever created for World of Warcraft," Blizzard's Mike Morhaime said. "It's not just an expansion, but a re-creation of much of the original Azeroth, complete with epic new high-level adventures for current players and a redesigned leveling experience for those just starting out."

If you've been slogging it out in the beta, drop us a line in the Comments.

There was a new surge in Beta invites last week. I got one and xfer'd my ret pally over and he's now a loot pinata without the loot. My lock on the other hand is the DPS pro. The new zones and the redone zones are awesome, lots of design gone into refreshing it all. The Worgen and Goblin starting zones are fun but buggy.
