New Left 4 Dead 2 Multiplayer Mode Introduced

The Left 4 Dead blog has revealed a new game mode for Left 4 Dead 2 in the form of Versus Survival.

The basic run-down is pretty simple - one team of four works a survival map, fending off the undead to set a benchmark time, then a second team comes in and tries to beat that time. This goes on until one team can't one-up the other allowing for full declaration of a winner.

It's a pretty neat idea that sits well within the Left 4 Dead framework Valve have created. Let us know how it plays once you've checked it out.

Does anyone really play this anymore? it was fun for about 2 weeks then I got bored with it. #1 was way more epic as it was so fresh. #2 just felt like a rushed out expansion with characters I didn't care in the slightest about. Should of just added the melee weapon thing to L4D1 with some new weapons and levels like they said they were gonna do.

I think I played left 4 dead twice after purchasing it on stream. didn't even bother getting l4 bed 2 as I was still in bed with ya mum from the first time.

Short of having fun trying to find bugged places on the map in survival with the clan, I never really enjoyed this mode to begin with.

Why does everyone hate the new characters? Oh wait, I do too. Why couldn't they have just continued the story with the characters we all liked :( ... I miss L4D 1

They shouldn't have made a sequel; the second one feels really boring for some reason. They need to just merge both games together.

Yeah it was great for like two weeks max. Now I never go on it. Should have spend those resources on hl3

I also agree - I played the first one for ages but the second one I got bored with very quickly.

There's also nothing more sad than joining a survival game only to find the other players are just spending 20minutes trying to jump into a bugged spot and then sitting there to win gold.
