JoWood have released a playable PC demo for Arcania: Gothic 4 today, offering RPG fans the chance to check out the latest addition to the popular European developed fantasy RPG series.
Arcania is the first title in the long-running franchise not developed by Piranha Bytes, this time around fellow German studio Spellbound is doing the honours while the former crew focus on a sequel to 2009's Risen. Ten years have passed since the end of Gothic 3 and the world has changed - the Southern Islands have become embroiled in conflict, and set the stage for the player to brave countless adventures in the guise of a nameless hero. You can download the Arcania: Gothic 4 PC Demo as well as check out the PC System Requirements, right here (1.7GB) in the AusGamers files library.

I'll be picking this one up for sure. $50 sounds about right for what was shown in the demo. Whether the story and voice acting picks up outside the demo or not, I don't know... But the immersiveness+RPG aspects+combat make for a decent dungeon romp
