![]() Torchlight II answers the overwhelming call of our community with an expansive co-op multiplayer experience. With all new character classes, an expansive overworld, new quests, monsters, and lots of new dungeons, Torchlight II finally lets you play with your friends in the world of Torchlight. Consistent with our pledge to provide unmatched value, Torchlight II will be sold at a low price point, and include a free matchmaking service for peer-to-peer multiplayer experience. Expect Torchlight II to ship in the spring of 2011.Interestingly, they've opted to postpone their plans for an MMO game, instead opting for what appears to be smaller scale Diablo-esque multiplayer. Runic Games CEO, Max Schaefer commented, Were so proud of everything Torchlight accomplished, and we feel that Torchlight II will not only give the fans everything theyve asked for, but far surpass its predecessor in terms of fun, balance, customization, story, and just being a great game to play with your friends.Unfortunately there's no screens or trailers available yet, only a bit of boring concept-art over on PC Gamer, but they will be showing an alpha build of the game to media at the upcoming GamesCom expo in Germany in a couple of weeks time. Currently slated for an Autumn 2011 release (U.S. Spring 2011), it will be interesting to see if it beats the hugely anticipated Diablo III (currently rumoured for a "2011" launch) to shelves.

Looks like it could be an awesome game experience though! I can't wait for the multiplayer, and to see how they work with it.

Had so many bugs and uninteresting item pickups that I haven't played it for 4 months, I played maybe 8 hours in (trying to justify my purchase).
Even after applying as many mods to the game to try to get it interesting... no luck.
A diablo clone that copy and pastes so many ideas that it is a poorly executed concept.
It was rather cheap when I picked it up though.

played it for hours, cleaned out the first dungeon and stax of the second
was half tempted to reply with a second character, but played other games instead;
not sure if im interested in multiplayer, too much of an effort hooking up with other people to play, will give the single player a go again though!

but it did get boring pretty quick, specially with no multiplayer

lvl 76 at lvl 35 of the shadow labyrinth. Apparently once you get past floor 100 the enemies get ridiculously tough,regardless of the difficulty, as they keep lvling but u get capped at 100

I would never have brought the sequal if it was a mmo, so this is good for torchlight!
The modding on this game is AMAZING. Scroll of respect mod is a must!
