There hasn't been as much buzz pre-San Diego Comic Con this year as there was last year (in terms of games), though that isn't stopping the legendary Yoshinori Ono, Street Fighter IV and Super Street Fighter IV producer, from getting excited via twitter that he can finally reveal his new secret project at the nerdtastic event (and seriously, when this guy gets excited, it's pretty damn infectious - I'd love to be present for this).

"I finally hope to reveal a bit about what I've been relentlessly working on lately," he wrote in one early tweet, which was recently followed up with "I was able to prepare Trailer of Comic-con. Don't miss it on next Saturday !!"

According to reports, we won't be seeing Capcom Vs SNK 3, or Darkstalkers, so what could he possibly be working on?

For added humour, check out Ono's obsessive Blanka photo taking (riddled throughout his tweets), I've witnessed this first-hand - you'd actually think he was the most hardcore Street Fighter fanboy to ever exist.

I'm not really sure but i'm hoping it'd be a fighter because i'm sucker for those, especially if they're made by the big C.

Events Hub reported this:

Yoshinori Ono stated at EVO 2010 that he'll be announcing something in two weeks that should get people very excited. He said this new project will be coming in about a year.

Since Ono made this announcement at EVO, it's extremely likely that it's fighting game related and he said previously that Super Street Fighter 4 is nothing compared to what's coming.

He apparently also said that it's not Capcom vs. SNK 3 or a DarkStalkers sequel, though.

During his speech at EVO, Ono went on to add that Street Fighter 4 won't stop since the arcade version is coming he paused there, but said he couldn't say any more.

In about two weeks, Comic-Con is taking place, and Ono mentioned he might have a trailer of the game to show at that convention.

What a tease.

I'm actually kind of glad we don't get to go and cover comic-con, because it would be way too hard to be there covering only gaming stuff and be missing out on all the movie/tv/comic stuff on show there.

As for the Capcom game, it's probably just going to be another Street Fighter (insert japantastic suffix here), but wouldn't it be awesome if they made some kind of roaming action adventure or RPG title with Street Fighter characters, in a similar vein to Mortal Kombat Shaolin Monks. I'd be aaaalll over that s***.

Hopefully HD Remixes of Street Fighter III 3rd Strike and / Or Street Fighter Alpha 3 MAX Edition :) But Alas that wouldn't be "bigger" Than SSFIV.

The only thing I can think of is like some massive online Final Fight game, like a 16 player 3d Side scrolling beat'em up, now THAT would be awesome :)

As I can't really recall any awesome 3D side scrolling Beat Em Ups these days, The bar is currently raised by Castle Crashers on Xbox Live Arcade, so a rebirth of the final fight series would be well timed

Capcom VS Midway????

LOL, seriously, possibly a new Streets of Rage with Super Street Fighter 4 engine? A new Tatsunoko for next-gen consoles?

Teaser made me think cross-platform network play.

Wouldn't that be nice - SSFIV matches between any consoles/PC... (it won't happen, but that's cooler than a third incarnation of SFIV)

Cross platform play is something a lot of devs really want to do but the hurdles they have to jump for MS and Sony (mostly MS because XBL is stricter) are apparently too high, so hardly anyone has bothered. (Not a known fact, just my own anecdotal info from a few second-hand sources).

kotaku reported the other day that MS did some cross platform testing and decided to shelve any plans for it because the console players got absolutely demolished by the pc players. apparetly they got the best xbox players for a certain game (probably cod) and mediocre players for pc, and the pc players won every time.

FPS and RTS, PC would win hands down. fighters, not so much. they would be on level grounds imo.

-Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective

Lot's trailers and callouts to their booth to actually play stuff. MvC3 panel is tomorrow.
