SEGA have revealed the planned map pack DLC for Aliens Vs Predator, "Bughunt", will land on the PlayStation Network, Xbox Live Marketplace and Steam this July 7, and features four new multiplayer maps and "new weather types".
The Bughunt Map Pack contains two new multiplayer maps for the six different competitive online modes; Deathmatch, Predator Hunt, Infestation, Species Deathmatch, Mixed Species Deathmatch and Domination, as well as two new maps for the "Survival" mode in which a team of up to four Marines fight to survive against the increasing horde of Aliens. For the first time, these maps will include environmental hazards and new weather effects.
The map pack will set you back AU$9.95 for both PSN and Steam and 560 MS Points. We have some new screens for the DLC below and right here.

it's cheaper than MW2 map packs, and at least they're all original new maps, not a collection of 'classic maps' you still need to pay for which is balls.

Are they saying bughunt to refer to aliens or the horrible plague ridden launch of a potentially good game that not many people have played since?

The MW2 map packs have 3 original maps each and at $15 that makes them $5 each, this has 2 originals at $10. I don't count the other 2 remakes cuz as you said that is balls.

Was this game really that bad?

For it's price point it is yes, but the game play is ok at best.
