It seems that SOE is working on a new free to play MMO based off the Star Wars: Clone Wars cartoon. Free to play with micro transactions of course.

Based on the successful Clone Wars animated TV series, Clone Wars Adventures will be a free-to-play MMO that, like Free Realms, will be targeted at a younger audience. The virtual world will let players take on the role of a Jedi, Padawan, or Clone Trooper and will feature popular characters like Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Yoda. The game will also feature a number of minigames, ranging from lightsaber duels to speeder bike racing. Players can also decorate their own living space, customize a droid companion, pilot a spaceship, and play an in-game collectible card game.

Just on the topic of SOE, I didn't mind SW:G that much to be honest. Found most of the gameplay quite enjoyable until the masses of Jedi's started popping up.

SWG was fucking awesome tbh before all that big combat update shit. But i played that game from launch all the way up to that update that tried to make it like WoW and changed the classes from like 34, to 8 or whatever. So fucking dumb.

Player base was good, wasn't very noob friendly/learning curve was huge so the faggots were few and far between. I'll give this a shot but i really doubt its gonna come close to what SWG used to be.

Man i hope Star wars: The old republic is good.

Ya Crack I like when a game has a decent learning curve, weeds out the fuckfaces, Arma does this well, I was going to give SWG a go but just didn't. Maybe I should have.

Playing SWG now, I really like it. $20 on Steam, everything included, lots of freebees. We leveled to 90 (4 of us) got a pretty good group, the "feel" of the game is greatly improved and now I have a decient PC with everything running (Volumetric shading) its damn pretty. I starting taking Screenshots of cool places like hunting Rancors on Dathomire. I havent taken a game screenshot for years. Crafting is great fun, the player housing is better than any other game, and they bombard you with things to put in your house.

PS Wookie Jedis are wrong and broken.

totally agree cav i had the same experience. I still rate SWG pre NGE as one of the best MMOs ever. Never had that much fun with such a nice bunch of people. It was cool just cruising around exploring and not doing anything else even~

NGE killed it for me and the introduction of holocrons -_-, economy went to shit after that lol

Lol, yep. Anoying because i was one of the first people on my server to unlock the jedi class. then you had them popping up all over the place.

SWTOR - yer waiting for this also, loved SWG.

Just hanging around in WoW atm, for raiding, and played the 1st 7mnths of Aion, still jump in there for a pvp fix. It's dying tho.

I cant see myself playing this though, definitely waiting for SWTOR.

although my fondest memory of swg was cruising with my guild on landspeeders just outside bestine and seeing our first jedi on bria. word spread quick and a large crowd gathered at a safe distance away from the jedi to watch him slaughter trash mobs lol.

Noone attacked him even the BH's cause it was just so cool to watch!

But man i remember before they had transports...going to krayt graveyards lol...such a hike..then some tool saying "will duel no killing blows" then KB's you and your back 10km away respawning lol..

This mmo looks like it will be too arcadey for my liking.

I have signed up for this but unfortunately there isnt much you can do if you don't pay for membership(6$ a month).
Once the old republic comes out though im gonna get it. I saw the trailer and it looks awesome.
