Bit of an FYI for those enjoying the StarCraft 2 beta: Blizzard are wrapping up Phase 1 of the beta test on Monday May 31st. It's being bought down for a few weeks to make changes and get things prepared for the big July 27th release date. They mention that it'll likely come back at some point before launch, but don't go into any other details.
We'd like to let all of our StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty beta test participants know that the first phase of the beta test will be coming to an end in all regions on Monday, May 31. The beta test will be unavailable for several weeks while we make some hardware and software configuration changes in preparation for the final phase of the beta test and the release of the game. We plan to bring the beta test back online for a couple of weeks prior to the game's launch to complete our testing. We'll have more details to share about when this final beta-testing phase will begin at a later date.promoted forum item

release dates, street dates, call it whatever you want. gone gold used to be the milestone that signified a game was ready for the masses. since gone gold sounds better than OEM or RTM I figured I buy one of these (picture for the uninspired who need pictures to know what's being talked about like they're being read a bedtime story)
we meet up at Mana bar in a few weeks when most have some free time and can make it there and sign the box. I will donate my preorder copy if trog can't seem to wrangle some love out of Blizzard on his own and drop it in the box. Then trog can decide on how to go about the methods of charity.
