Speculation was roaming the hinterland that is the interwebs for a few weeks putting former Criterion producer/designer, Stuart Black (better known for his work on their 2006 shooter, Black), at the helm of an all-new next-gen FPS. Today NamcoBandai Partners can confirm the speculation as truth with the official announcement of Bodycount from Codemasters.
"Our core focus for Bodycount is to deliver best-in-class gun play that places the gamer at the heart of the experience," said Executive Producer Tom Gillo. "From the jaw-dropping devastation caused by firing into enemies or shredding the world around you in a hail of bullets, Bodycount will crystallise that moment of pulling the trigger into an exhilarating sensory overload of action."
We have more info available over on our Bodycount game page, as well as two new screens for your perusal below.

Does that mean that shooting 1 bullet into a person is going to make the collapse in a heap screaming as they start to lose consciousness from blood loss as their buddies are calling out to him because they are pinned down and can't get to him and then they start cursing your name because you run up and teabag him?

Can already tell that the bit about firing into enemies being fun is a lie by that second pic, 3 rounds and the guy isn't dead = not thrilling but just a normal game.

I played black, and from my memory it was one of those bullet sponge games which is a straight out turn off never touch it again game for me.
