Continuing the support for their acclaimed fantasy RPG, EA and BioWare have released another patch for Dragon Age: Origins, now available for all platforms.
Here's the changelog:
- Various changes have been made to code and resources to support the Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening expansion pack. Most of these changes do not affect Origins itself.
- Some players were experiencing increasingly long load times. A major cause of this problem has been fixed.
- At higher levels, non-player characters now receive a bonus to armor penetration. This mitigates an unintentional imbalance with well-armored high-level characters, since armor penetration previously did not scale as aggressively as armor itself did.
- Elite-rank enemies (lieutenants) can no longer be shattered. This preserves the intended tactical design of many combat encounters.
- Portraits for summoned creatures (like a ranger's wolf) were displaying improperly while in the party camp. This no longer occurs.
Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners can find this one of their respective online services and PC gamers can download it right here on AusGamers.

Is anyone still playing DA:O? I kinda lost interest just before the end of the game about halfway through the final big siege but meaning to pick it back up again so that I can keep going with the imminent DLC.
Also:
Awww. Party's over :(

Holy shit
Yeah, Hogfather, yahtzee said the same thing in the zero punctuation review. I think multiple character types seem to be intended for multiple play throughs but most people will just go through the game once and then perhaps do each origin story by itself.

I don't think I'll be picking up the expansion any time soon either, too many new games out now or about to come out. Maybe when steam has it on one of its big sales.

If it didn't have the load screen issues and had more entertaining combat I reckon I'd have been able to finish my two play throughs but as it is I don't think I can be bothered getting back into it even with the load times fixed. But who knows, the expansion might be enough to suck me back in.

This is probably my problem - I was super happy with my AW on the first playthrough that I haven't had a lot of desire to go back!
If I go back to it, I plan to stick it on Easy and stop pressing pause, liven the game up a bit :)
