While in the past we've missed out on the mega popular Square-Enix series, Dragon Quest, Nintendo of Australia today confirmed to AusGamers Dragon Quest IX would indeed land on Aussie shores for the DS.
In a unique partnership with Square-Enix, Nintendo of Australia will publish Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies in Australia when the game arrives in winter 2010. Dragon Quest IX has sold over 4.15 million copies in the Japanese market.
Good news for hardcore JRPG fans, and definitely a step in the right direction for unique and even niche gaming in Australia.

If Nintendo are publishing it, hopefully they'll put some strong advertising behind it, I remember them saying they wanted to do that.
