It was a no-brainer, but I'm chuffed at the news anyway. Warner Bros. Interactive and Rocksteady Studios have officially announced a sequel to the critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham Asylum, and have stated the game is already underway.

"Getting the opportunity to create Batman: Arkham Asylum and seeing its success has been a dream come true for the team," said Sefton Hill, Rocksteady Games' game director via the official press release. "We are honoured to create the next chapter in this compelling story and promise to deliver another game worthy of the DARK KNIGHT."

Here's hoping they expand upon the core license and don't just stick to Arkham Asylum - there's just so much potential with this team and all of what Gotham City could potentially offer.

I just started playing the first one and its sweet. I think I'd rather be playing it on console than PC though, it seems more geared to console.

try the 360 controller hooked up to your PC - a lot of people seem to be doing that for third-person action games now

i think the main challenge will be including new background information to the sequel and minimising any duplication.

the first one's coverage of all the characters was just so damn comprehensive. joker looks awesome though.

Can definitely recommend 360 controller for the first one. Not a keyboard friendly game
