It's Monday again and there's a few interesting tidbits that came in while we were afk.
  • Assassin's Creed: Lineage: In the lead up to this week's launch of the hotly anticipated Assassin's Creed 2, Ubisoft have released the full short-film Assassin's Creed Lineage - a 35 minute live-action short that chronicles tales of Giovanni Auditiore de Firenze, father of Assassin's Creed 2's Ezio - the events of which set the scene for the new game.

You can now watch the whole clip streaming here, but for the full effect we recommend the HD download (650MB).

Assassin's Creed 2 drops on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on November 19th 2009 with the PC version following early next year.

  • DiRT 2: It has been a long wait already since the console release of Codemasters rally title Colin McRae: Dirt 2 with PC gamers still waiting for a taste of the action. There's a couple of weeks left to go still, but prepare us a little, Codies have released the system reqs:
Recommended Specifications - Enhanced for DirectX 11
OS: Microsoft Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7
Processor: Intel Core i7 or AMD Phenom II
    Memory: 3GB
    HD Space: 10GB
Video Card: ATi Radeon HD 5700 Series

    Minimum Specifications
OS: Microsoft Windows XP, Vista or Windows 7
    Processor: Intel Pentium 4 3.0Ghz, AMD Athlon 64 3400+
Memory: 1GB (2GB for Windows Vista)
    HD Space: 10GB
Video Card: ATI Radeon X1500, NVIDIA GeForce 6800
The PC version will of course have a bunch of visual enhancements over the console counterparts, several of which can be seen in these trailers.

DiRT 2 is due for a December 4th 2009 release on PC.

  • The Sims 3: World Adventures: Promoting the upcoming Sims 3 Expansion World Adventures EA have recorded yet another pop singer doing vocals in the game's gibberish Simlish tongue.

Nelly Furtado sings Manos al Aire in the made up language and you can check it out here, or for a vid that actually offers some info on the contents of the expansion, watch this one.

The Sims 3: World Adventures is due for PC on November 19th 2009

wow
those are some beefy system requirements for dirt2
actually seems pretty realistic, unlike most system requirements being thrown around these days
that said, who actually pays attention to system requirements these days?

Dirt 2 is a fitting tribute to Colin McRae and his son, Johnny and friends Graeme Duncan and Ben Porcelli. AN amazing talent and sadly missed already.
