A new version of Firefox has landed, fixing a few security issues and bugs and re-adding the ability to submit crash reports (not that Firefox ever crashes, am I right!).

As always you'll be prompted by Firefox to automatically update, but if you want to stay ahead of the game you can download the latest installer for Windows right now from AusGamers.

Does Firefox stagger it's update checks?

I re-ghosted both my Brothers and Mums laptop and put firefox on both the same time, yet for some reason my Brothers auto-updates always seem to come a day or 2 after Mums. He uses the computer more so you would think he would get his first too (i.e. before mum had a chance to log-in)

Probably just some setting or something thats different, but it would be pretty cool if firefox staggered it's auto-update check/notices in order to save thier servers or something and not just lag our everyone trying to get it at the same time.

Updated, no problems.
Does Firefox stagger it's update checks?
Yeh, I am about 99% sure they do. I've had gaps of up to days between my work PC and home PC updating. Makes sense!

While we're here, does anyone know the current status of the secretly installed (and annoying-to-remove) .NET and WPF plugins by Microsoft?

My 3.x Firefox crashed for the first time a couple of weeks ago due to one of those plugins. Mozilla put them on a blocklist, then apparently unblocked them later? Have no idea what is currently happening, since one of them is claimed to be a security hole.

I stopped using FF3.5.x, stupid thing would never keep cookies. Even with history and cookies set to be kept/remembered indef, I would shut down FF and then the next time I opened it, I'd have to log back into all of the sites I wanted to stay signed into. SRWIron FTW.
