If someone is being racist towards your race of choice in World of WarCraft, say, calling your Blood Elf "The Pointy-Eared Red Cross", Blizzard now have a solution.

Launching today, they've announced the ability to change your character race, which will set you back US$25. You can only change intra-faction races (so no Horde to Alliance changes - that's a separate US$30 service), and the transaction is separate to realm transfers - you can do this every three days though, until you choose the race that best suits you.

Can I use the Race Change service to change factions?
No, faction changes are handled separately through our Faction Change service. For more information, visit the Faction Change FAQ.

Its kinda unbelievable how many people play WoW. Gotta pay to buy the game. Then you gotta pay every month or so just to play it. Then you gotta pay more to get the expansion pack that you *need*. Then you gotta pay for all sorts of other crap.

I'm sure that there are people working just to pay for their virtual life on this game.
Seems like a massive waste of time and money if you ask me.

Because video games in general, TV, movies, or other media aren't a waste of time and money as well?

That being said, i gave up WoW because of the impact it was having on the rest of my life, so I'm in two minds on the subject.

I'm not a fan of WoW, but it's really not that difficult to afford. You can spend as much on a 2 hour movie as a full month of WoW time. If WoW is your kind of game, which one is better value for money?
