WoW Faction Change Now Available

Blizzard have finally let loose their faction changing service, for Alliance to Horde or Horde to Alliance characters, and you'll also be able to recustomise your character through the process.

The price of the service is US$30, and you're allowed only one character change every 60 days (so you can change your character back). All equipment not faction-specific will change across, but for faction-specific items, you'll be given the considered opposite faction equivalent. Only characters Level 10 and above are able to use the service.

Exactly. You can either spend that time leveling your new toon in which you'd pay that amount anyway or you can pay the $30 and transfer straight away.

I don't see the problem.
The problem is that you're a retard.

The real problem is that it's an extremely bad way of allowing the two factions to properly interact with each other. Instead of allow Guilds to be formed with both factions, now you pay $30 to join an alliance guild. That's my view on it.

$30! Ouch what for? so some automated system can handle it for you. Or is the $30 just for them to recoup the DEV costs on the transfer system. Nah, just another great money spinner....

Doesn't do much when you want to play with a friend, on the oppisite faction when they are on another server. Be prepared to fork out like $70.

Not that I want to sound like the cliched WoW bagging jerk, but really, this is just getting absolutely ridiculous. I can understand now how frustrating it must have been for my friends when I used to play a lot of WoW, because theres still a few people at work who are fully into it and it constantly annoys me how readily they get down on their knees and happily suck that Blizzard cock every time a new way to steal their money is announced.

What happened to you Blizzard, you used to be about the music, man :(

I don't play WoW anymore, and havn't for....2-3 years now. However I would consider re-enabling my account, and changing faction & server so I could play with a mate of mine. I won't do it, cus WoW is the devil, but it's tempting!

Instead of spending the $100+ it would cost to re-enable your account, transfer server, and change faction, you should buy Batman: Arkham Asylum and play that instead, its a much more awesome game :D

If anyone's interested I did the faction change the other night and the whole thing only takes about 5 minutes. Once you process the transaction just log in to WoW and beside the toon you're changing over is a new icon that you click and it takes you to the character selection screen and you just set it up again with whatever race is compatible with your class.

I noticed that I could edit the name as well so maybe you can change that too but I didn't bother.

What if you're on a PvP server, and you've got other characters on that server already? Does it let you have both horde and alliance?

I haven't played WoW for over 2 years, but when I last played, you couldn't have Horde and Alliance on the same server if it was PvP.

Yeah, I think they changed that in a patch recently, you can have horde and alliance on a pvp server now.
