In a very rare move, Valve have announced they will be taking their Steam servers offline for approximately three hours on August 6 Thursday at 6:00pm Pacific time for maintenance.
Some Steam services will be offline during this time. Affected services will include the Steam Community, in-game matchmaking or lobbies, downloading games from Steam content servers, and making purchases from the Steam store. Games that do not rely on Steam matchmaking services should remain playable.
Now we know this means you're going to have find something else to do and so want you to use this news post as a means of support - let's list activities that can last upwards of three hours and help keep your mind off any Left 4 Dead et al lost time.

Only l4d? Not caring. As long as natural selection and cs are still good.

Even with L4D you can just open the server browser and direct join anyway.

Looks like it'll be during work time anyway, assuming it happens when they said it will.

Though this is Valve we're talking about.
