As hinted at a couple of days ago, those teaser trailers were part of a larger whole and today Piranha Games and Smith & Tinker have released the complete debut trailer
An exclusive interview
with IGN reveals that while developer Piranha Games is still fishing for a publisher, the game is being constructed for PC and Xbox 360, built on Unreal Engine 3 tech.
The tasty bits of the Q&A include a year 3015 setting with a new story not necessarily correlated to previous games and a cooperative play focus with a goal of four players. Unfortunately they were unclear as to how much of a simulation focus there would be due to the limitations of console play but it is at least made clear that the lead developer is very much a PC MechWarrior fan and wants to bring that experience back this time around.
The Game has only been in development for nine months so there's still a lot to work out, most big features like the scope of multiplayer and whether it will have FMV cut-scenes etc hinge on what kind of publishing deal and eventual budget they settle on. Things are certainly looking promising though, MechWarrior fans stay tuned!
