EA have released a new trailer for Dante's Inferno, offering the first public glimpse of gameplay action in what has been referred to as their multiplatform answer to Sony's popular God of War series.
EAís Danteís Inferno tells an adapted story that focuses on delivering a blockbuster 3rd person action game experience while bringing Alighieriís depiction of Hell to the medium. Players assume the role of Dante, who descends into Hell after returning home to find his beloved Beatrice murdered, with Lucifer seducing her soul into the underworld. Dante sets out on a rescue mission to save Beatrice, but he soon realizes he is also in Hell to face his own demons and ultimately to redeem himself.
Check out the trailer right here on AusGamers.

Dante's Inferno is tentatively due for a holiday season 2009 release on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Have to say, when I first heard of this game, I thought it was a ridiculous idea, but the more I see of it, the more I'm starting to warm to it. I'm sure its going to piss off a hell of a lot of literary people though.

Game play wise I'm sure there will be nothing to little wrong with it.

Fighting your way through hell has absolutely nothing to do with Dante's Inferno. Nor is there any way that you could reasonably interpret it that way.

Whats wrong with doing plagiarism the games workshop way? Just copy the bits you want and then rename everything.
