Shacknews recently spoke to our mate at Valve, Chet Faliszek, who confirmed full support for the original Left 4 Dead is still a major part of the company's zombie killing mission statement, revealing new DLC is indeed on the way for the game, and that fans would also be seeing plenty of support rolling out in updates, including promised team-based matchmaking, among much more.
Meanwhile, Eurogamer recently spoke with Valve marketing head, Doug Lombardi, who claims pre-orders for Left 4 Dead 2 are "currently double what they were for Left 4 Dead 1 at this point in time away from launch, we're like 20 weeks out or something like that." So, it looks like Valve have either stepped up their L4D1 support in response to the backlash from fans, or they were always going to do this giving everyone what they want. Either way, fans of the first game can feel sated their hard-earned dollars are still going to see that game being a tangible product with new content. If you missed it, we spoke with Chet during this year's E3 which you can check out right here, while our very own hands-on preview of Left 4 Dead 2 can be found here.

I had 3 maps last night where tank spawned within about 30 seconds of getting out the door. On one occasion it spawned as soon as the match started, with only level 1 weapons. Its no fun for both teams and just a waste of a map.

and what trog said. things looks pretty rosy from your end I spose steve, but when you're playing the game regularly you see so much annoying and extremely disruptive shit that should've been fixed ages ago. and by disruptive, I mean actually stops you from being able to play a good solid game - which is required for the format of this game (randoms coming and going, campaigns being 5 maps long, stark contrast between a good and bad team)

I genuinely get 180bpm heart rate when your entire team is dead (at spawn), you're 50% through, tank chasing and you're pulling off bullshit melee's against hunters.
Very satisfying.
I enjoyed advanced VS, had a sense of urgency like that all the time.

I've been kicked for running off when 2 people are down and the 3rd nub is running backwards to spawn (away from nothing? tank is with the 2 downed). No way I'm going to revive either of those 2 with zombies + tank on full health and the other special infected about to spawn.
If there's no chance of saving you, I'm not going to :S

On the finale of blood harvest we were pwning it up, then on the last tank it never spawned... bugged the game and we couldn't finish. so gay.

doesn't happen very often but when it does it's annoying, specially when you're playing a hard match against some clan stack and it's a close score

I joined a game yesterday as infected and the same thing had happened. Tank had spawned up on the plane walkway where the survivors start. First time i had seen that.
2nd tank not spawning at the end of blood harvest has happened to me a few times.

this was kinda cool, as it makes it easier to join a server running non standard maps (auto dl just doesn't seem to exist)
we ran a 7 player survival session on the server last night on some new maps, which was pretty fun :)
I've noticed that there's more 14 player VS sessions on newer maps popping up, though I don't really play a lot of VS :/
