The uptake of Usenet is on the rise as more and more people discover the advantage of it as a system to communicate and download files (bolstered in no small way by the decision of some Australian ISPs to start including Usenet access as part of their service).
Given the big speed advantages offered by many of the Usenet providers, we have spent a bit of time in the last few weeks working with premium provider Giganews to start offering some of our files for download via Usenet - in addition to our fast HTTP downloads. We'll have more on exactly what Usenet is and how to use it in the near future, but for now we just wanted to let Usenet ninjas know that this is now an option for some of our files - you can see the full list right here. We also make available NZBs for use in your favourite binary downloader (if you're on Internode, you can read our existing tutorial to see how to download). If you're interested in trying it out, Giganews offer a free trial which will give you a great taste of their service.
