This time though, it's not the fans who're throwing their angry weight around, but the ESRB (the US equivalent to the OFLC), who apparently kicked up a bit of a fuss over the potential cover image for Left 4 Dead 2 which actually featured the little finger and ring finger chewed off, same as the thumb.
Addressing the trivial concern, Valve simply changed the image to have those two fingers bent back - which they've humorously acknowledged
here.
Ah poor Valve - all you want to do is make awesome zombie killing simulators, yet you're thwarted at every turn - don't worry though, AusGamers has your back!

also what's with the mega valve sphincter lips on this l4d2 thing steve

They copied and rotated the ring finger, which is why the shadow is on the wrong side. Pretty simple to fix too - amateur GIMP work.

l4d2 > cod6
If they merge the l4d and l4d2 content for everyone that has both and do the online thing like Relic does for DoW and CoH games + expansions I will be happy.

You didn't pay for extra content. You payed for L4D. You got it. The developers could simply stop doing anything if they wanted to as you already have the product you paid for! But wait... Valve decides they want to release some extra content for FREE so they do (with TF2 and L4D). They are adding to the product you have already purchased at their own expense.
Now that they have done this all these spoiled kids think they are entitled to extra content. It's like buying a car and then expecting the manufacturer to come around a few months later and adding a better CD player and paint job.

That being said it doesn't give them a pass to simply drop the ball on a game and complain about fan reactions to loss in quality.
Left4Dead 1 was released incomplete and promised content that it isn't close to having. The thing that really annoys me is that the simple things that should be working properly aren't:
* Matchmaking is a joke and is random draw with no logic (connect to games with good ping and players with a similar skill level)
* Player Invitations drop out and do not arrive
* Servers time out often, even the dedicated ones
* Short campaign with no real storyline
* Lack of follow up content (maps etc) but good support for fixing exploits
Simply put: shortchanged!
As of now I for one will be boycotting the release of L4D2, but I may reconsider if the price compensates for the lack of L4D 1 content.
I'm ont spoiled or a little kid, I simply have a standard of quailty that my games should live up to :D

imo the only thing that made it incomplete was the 2 missing versus campaigns which we now have.

Sadly I think the brand name alone of L4D will lead to enough sales to justify their decision to do this.
All your comments are so totally accurate though; fuck the matchmaking shits me every time I try to play the thing I feel like it's a waste of time trying to play with friends.

b) At the least you have to feel sorry for the uninformed saps who are making L4D1 the 2nd highest selling game on steam at $40us, when it is going to be free content in a few months.
c)L4D players aren't asking for a free ride, just the content they were promised when they purchased an incomplete game for full price. Valve could make this right by releasing 'L4D2' as a $20us dlc, or a discounted purchase for L4D1 owners(digital distribution makes trading-in kinda hard), or hell just release the sdk and we can make L4D3,4,5...

you head back down to the dealership and ask about the paint you were promised on the first car you bought, and they tell you not to worry because the new car will have paint and all kinds of great stuff... as long as you pay for it.
having said that i'm not too fussed about L4D2. I got a fair few hours out of the first one - but I'll be looking a lot more closely at L4D2 to make sure it's definately worth the money, cause I feel a little ripped after L4D1.
