So apparently there's a new Aliens vs Predator game in the works! They don't have a proper title just yet so it's just being referred to as "Aliens vs Predator". It sounds pretty similar to AvP2 and most of the information released so far is fairly generic and expected:

The Marine’s story is an incredible fight against the odds, and the horrors lurking in the dark. Beset on all sides yet armed to the teeth, the Colonial Marine represents humanity’s last stand with the firepower to fight back.

As the Alien, players will discover what it’s like to be the most murderous and lethal creature in the universe, with the ability to traverse any surface with awesome agility in order to get close enough to unleash its deadly teeth and claws.

A master of the hunt, the Predator grants the player a suite of exotic weaponry and equipment with which to stalk its unknowing prey. Earn the greatest honour by ambushing prey up-close and butchering them for a gory trophy kill.

There are some cool screenshots that are definitely worth a look and there's a trailer showcasing the Predator action.

This looks pretty cool I gotta say. Hope the human is as scary as what the first game was. Hearing that proximity tracker tick at you was just so pants ruining.

Been following this for a little while now and some things to note are that it's being made by rebellion, The people responsible for the first aliens vs predator. Also that the campaign will apparently blend together, as in you won't be able to choose to play as the predator or the marine etc instead you will change species throughout the campaign.

This game is also responsible for the near death and huge delay in Aliens: colonial marines.

first game was definitely more atmospheric, remember playing late at night with lights off, don't think I've had a game experience like it..

Hmm looks good.

I must say even though the Original AvP game had average graphics and a few flaws, it did get alot of things right.

The alien enemy dynamics were particularly well executed. I soiled many pairs of undies playing Marine on Expert.

I cant wait!

AVP was one of the first games that I ever played online using Mplayer, there was nothing like being an alien hiding in an air duct and just waiting for some poor soul to head crunch.

The original AVP had average graphics? It was one of the best looking games of it's time, back when 3dfx voodoo's were top gun in graphics cards.

Well the creative's had 32mb but they were trash compared to the voodoo 3's.

Hopefully they have a proper co-op campaign or something, the AVP multiplayer was fun don't get me wrong, but that universe screams for full campaign co-op action, as the 1994 arcade game proves:
