EA Redwood Shores, the team behind Dead Space and the forthcoming dark action romp, Dante's Inferno, have internally changed their name to likely reflect the fact they're EA's new badboy studio.

"We're moving in a direction that's less Mickey Mouse and more realistic," Glen Schofield, VP of the newly named "Visceral Games", told Gamesindustry.biz. "Visceral works really well for Dead Space, Dante's and [Dead Space] Extraction."

Visceral Games' manifest of mature titles suggests they're going to be the 'go-to' crew for more hardcore and mature games for Electronic Arts, much like DICE already is.
