also The undocumented 3.1 changes (atleast undocumented on the PTR)

Single best change they've ever made for Hunters. Means I no longer have to suffer one less bag slot!
Posted 11:07am 15/4/09
One of the more annoying changes is Blizz resetting all talent points.

Now they just need to do something about Druids carrying 4 entire sets of gear and losing almost all their bags and warlocks not having souls stacking at all (and still needing a bag for them).

You can download it from the main WoW site but that would take ages. You're looking at maybe 6gig or more I guess. I would leech someones whole WoW folder and then use a 10 trial pass when setting up your account. Will save an assload of time or maybe places like EB sell the trial discs.

Yeah. If they were going to make this change, they should have done something to at least make Quivers useful. With 1k stacks, they're pretty pointless now, even if I did have a level 70 20 slot quiver. Where that previously held 5k ammo, it now holds 20k ammo - I might as well just get a regular 20 slot bag and just hold 5 stacks of ammo and now I have an extra 15 slots for random other stuff, since there's no speed buff.
And multiple leatherworking skills just became completely pointless, since quivers are now pointless.
Gay :(

Apart from the 15% haste now built into every Hunter's autoshot you mean?
I can't see why you're having a whinge personally, it's not like you got slapped with a 10% dmg nerf (Titan's Grip for Fury warrior) or had your ability to tank whilst dual-wielding impacted (Death Knights... but then again, that's probably not such a good example). Who takes Leatherworking on a hunter anyway? I would've thought most wanting to play the min-max game would have JC as their main profession (with mining or something else to back it up). HTFU imo :)
syco - Aren't they doing stuff with soul shards 'soon' ? I vaguely recall interviews where Ghostcrawler & friends mentioned that making ammo stack to 1k was a temporary measure whilst they look into better alternatives for ammo/shards etc?

It was most prolly the Blizzard downloader. Although I can't complain because it's always worked fine for me.

If you tank dual wielding you're a fail death knight anyway.

re: Warlocks - dream on. Some 4.5 years on and still no change to this retarded mechanic.
Apparently it's to limit use of Shadowburn/Soulfire. Right..
And look! Now it's limited to carrying a maximum of 32! Drain Soul now pulls shards during the channelling. Joy.
Seriously, Blizzard, fucking fix this.
Posted 01:10am 16/4/09
FUCK!
Posted 01:14am 16/4/09
I haven't played my lock yet but from the forum reports it's only giving shards as something dies still instead of possibility every tick like they said :/

While I don't play wow anymore I still follow the changes a bit and it seems that survival hunters (which is most) got hit pretty decently with the nerf stick. Explosive Shot was perhaps the single biggest OP attack skill in the game so it was kinda required though
Posted 01:37am 16/4/09
Posted 02:03am 16/4/09
Even if they got 50% of damage from explosive shot it was only nerfed 10% so it's only a 5% overall nerf. Hunters have always been pretty damn high on damage meters so I don't think they're doing it that rough. I don't play one though so I'm just guessing here.
I think Survival will still be the cookie cutter spec. Just as Fury will be for warriors even though they got a 10% damage from 2handers nerf.
Posted 02:16am 16/4/09
Flat out damage wise, yes explosive shot didn't get that much of a nerf. What i'm talking about is the tallent T.n.T which used to give a 15% chance to stun for 3 seconds and increased crit chance on ES by 9%. That's a pretty big nerf to overall damage when explosive shot can crit for 3.5 - 5k a tick, 3 times. Still though, I can see why they did it. Back when I used to do SSC and TK we had like 2 - 3 hunters always in the top spots so even back before survival became awesome they still did great damage.

My bear tank got raped, over 20% drop in armour which I really can't explain.
Posted 08:18am 16/4/09
Warlock conflag was a bit OP but they've hotfixed it to do 70% of Immolate's total periodic damage instantly (down from 100%). So many Warlocks came out of the woodwork last night and were raping everything in bg's.
Also dual specs = win

Never done healing before so looking forward to it.. seems it's easier (less stressful?) to raid as a DPS or heals then it is a tank when you're expected to know every detail of fights, positioning, phases, etc.
Posted 12:22pm 16/4/09
Posted 12:27pm 16/4/09
DPS is ez mode. I can 5 man/raid drunk as a skunk and still output decent DPS.
Healing requires you to be paying attention at all times and to know damage patterns for various bosses and how to mitigate risk.
But tanking also often involves leading the group and having the best grasp of boss mechanics. Definitely the most responsibility out of the 3 roles.
Posted 12:34pm 16/4/09
Yeah, sucks eh? I didn't lose 20%, I went from 33k to 27k. I also lost around 2k health. Some bears on the forums are reporting they GAINED 10k armour. Must be some bug with whatever spec they're using. I'd love me some 43k armour, might look into it :D
Healing is the most noticeable thing in a raid IMO. If the heals are lax everyone feels it. I don't overly like healing but when I'm not I feel like "if I was there the tank'd still be alive and I would've kept those 3 DPS who don't know how to move out of xxx up" heh.
It's kind of fun healing just gets a bit boring after a while, that said so does trying to race the DPS charts and so does having something beat on you haha.

Except gatherer ... I had to grab another mod (mobmap) and copy 3 lib files out of it.
And TomTom, but if you manually grab the latest beta it seemed ok (except for a bug or 2)

I play on Blackrock 99% of the time. Got a couple alts on other realms to pester some mates :P
Posted 01:54pm 16/4/09
Not really. What sort of info you chasing?
Posted 01:56pm 16/4/09
- Gear: Grab anything with +SP and is plate
- Spec: Copied a guildies
- Actual healing: Setup clique to become left & right clicker extraordinaire.
Posted 01:59pm 16/4/09
:D
Posted 02:09pm 16/4/09
Most Holy paladins don't figure out which holy spec or gear design they should go for. Main trend is getting plate+spellpower and gemming/enchanting intellect as it boosts spellpower, crit and mana pool. My gear and spec is based around crit. I sit in 25man raids with 50+% crit doing 17-18k Holy light spams :D I'm going to play with the new prot talents that increases healing done and recieved to see if its of any real benefit (I think it will as it should still beef up heals when in the debuff of divine plea).

not many realms can say that.

April 20th they all become against TOS and it will be given a ban for advertising casinos. :]
