Epic are planning on releasing a free update for Gears of War 2 towards the end of March that will introduce a new experience system and Achievements designed to better balance online play. The idea behind the new experience system is to offer players a more progressive sense of achievement while battling it out online.

Then, a few days after the patch is released, Gears 2 lovers can expect an all-new map pack (called SnowBlind) which will introduce four new multiplayer maps with varying levels of difference to balance the newly introduced, er..., balance system.
