I'm biased, but the awesome Rise Against have just been confirmed to be adding to the Guitar Hero World Tour DLC Track Pack list of ever-growing artists and exclusive tracks.

For the mega punk rock superstars, they'll be debuting a previously unreleased track, "Death Blossoms", alongside "Audience of One" (Appeal To Reason) and "Ready to Fall" (The Sufferer and the Witness) - all available from March 12 on both the Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network.

You'll also be able to rock out with Rise Against front man, Tim McIlrath, on March 14 from 11AM to 1PM (PST) over Xbox Live. Just send a friend request to the GamerTag GHRiseAgainst1.

No love for the Wii?

You sound surprised? The Wii port is *always* fucked over.

Actually, I'm guessing it has to do with the same old problem - the Wii version only supports individual song purchases, but most record labels only permit 'packs' of 3 or so songs (or album packs). Since there's no happy ground for distribution, Wii misses out.

Well that just sucks, what's stopping them from selling a pack exactly?

As I said, the Wii system is programmed to only do one song purchases/downloads.

The artists and record labels mostly only do software distribution (songs) in package deals. It's like that argument with iTunes - "if customers could download individual songs off my album, they might only get the single I released, and not the other 11 shit tracks that fill the rest of the album"

Sucks, but that is how it goes. Also, Wii has a size limitation on songs. This is why Metallica's Death Magnetic album was never fully released - only three songs on the album were under the hardware (memory block) limit.

The programming spiel seems a bit like bullshit, but the rest of your explanation makes enough sense to explain it anyway.

Wii really needs a bigger hard drive.

Nah, just needs to be able to use the SD card slot properly. I'd be happy with a 16GB SD card.

Doesn't matter what size the additional storage is - there's a memory block limit in the Wii filesystem. The SD card could be huge, but the individual files themselves cannot exceed a certain limit.

How do they do Wiiware games then? They'd be much bigger than a few GH song files.
