Sony have just sent through word their Tokyo head office has revealed more than 20 million users have registered accounts with their free online service,
PlayStation Network. According to the information we received, in just two years and three months Sony have accrued a fairly substantial number of users, however, it wasn't revealed just what percentage of the 20 million consistently use the service for online gaming, shopping or downloading.
It's still a fairly remarkable figure, but one that doesn't necessarily correlate to recent information suggestion the PS3 is still dwindling behind Xbox 360 and Wii sales.

According to that ps3 has only just sold over 20million... so everyone has registered their ps3 then?

Is PSN just for PS3, or is it also available for PS2/PSP or something?
Also, looking at the predictions on VGChartz, wooooop bring on MLB '09 The Show, can't wait! Hopefully it's not just prettier with updated teams and actually more polished than '08.

Also according to that article "just over half" of those are gold (paid) subscribers.
That's 17 million active though. If Sony's stats are correct, I'm guessing that must be counting every single throwaway account every registered on the service.
