StarCraft 2 Beta? Unannounced MMO and More WoW Content

Activision Blizzard have been busy, and as part of their annual earnings report a few tidbits of information have been leaked onto the world wide webz (where information of this magnitude is oh-so special).

We've already mentioned the company's plan to inundate us with even more Guitar Hero, but what about that other cash cow, Blizzard? Well, according to reports Blizzard COO Paul Sims has said the beta for the hotly anticipated StarCraft 2 will begin in the coming months and that we'll also see more in the way of World of WarCraft content with new realms and updates slated throughout the year.

Finally, while nothing was actually revealed, Blizzard did recognise their unannounced MMO that has had the whole gaming world guessing since day one (Lost Vikings ftw), but left it in the dark realms with not a single shed of light (at least it's clearly still happening though). Care to take another guess at the mystery MMO?

We had one, it was called Neocron. I liked the beta but wasn't willing to pay money for it, and have never heard of it again. But I will always remember the huge city that took weeks to learn your way around, and my endless hours in the sewers hitting spiders with my brass knuckles... There was also nudity.

Blizzard has already done that. It was The Burning Crusade.

I think when Blizz is ready with their knew MMO they'll totally kill off WoW by nerfing the hell outta everything and keep DK's so powerful they'll be able to one shot raid bosses and everyone will be forced to leave because the game will be completely unbalanced.

4000ap 35%crit unbuffed and thats scrub players in the first raids of the expansion. 6500ap and 50% crit by icecrown. WoW already on that decline.

I think blizzard are mostly permitted to do this, given that each release/update is generally 10000x better than anything EA & friends churn out in the same fashion. It's why people bitching about Starcraft being split into 3 games is so funny - EA has been screwing people like this for years in the form of Madden/FIFA/NBA Live/NFS etc...

Starcraft was an awesome game, the fact that people still play it competitively over 10 years later is a testament to that. Blizzard is a pretty good developer and i don't think anyone with a clue doubts that Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2 will be great games.

Though yeah, obviously some series are utter crap.

I believe there new MMO from Blizzard will be based on George Orwells 1984. Bottom line being they hope to completely control the lives of the mindless drones playing the game. This was almost achieved with Wow but blizzard was upset that some people actually managed to escape.

Starcraft FPS

I'm thinking Left 4 Dead style with infected replaced as Zerg and you play Terran. How awesome would it be in a bunker with some firebats and such destroying 100s of zeglings coming at you. Dunno how Protoss could be worked in but sure they could figure it out.
