Microsoft's Keynote presentation at the 2009 CES expo just wrapped up and while gaming news was a little dry this year, they did confirm a couple of things for the upcoming Halo Wars.

Halo Wars, the Xbox 360 exclusive real-time strategy game from Ensemble Studios (Age of Empires) will be released world wide on February 28 2009. A free demo of the game is also due to hit Xbox Live a few weeks earlier on February 5.

RTS on consoles, awesome

they have totally rethought the genre for the console. the game has been built from the ground up specifically for the 360, and apparently its not going to appeal to the majority of the tradtional RTS fans.

I am pretty keen to check it out. If this one doesn't work, then I'll give up on RTS for consoles, but only after this one.

I've played it. I was expecting to hate it straight up (RTS on console haha, etc) but it was actually pretty good. I don't know if I'd buy it because I think of myself as a fairly "hardcore" RTS player, mostly in the sense that I like fast micromanagement and using kb shortcuts etc, but it was still a pretty cool game.

I only had a 20 minute hands-on MP hands on (coop against a really low-skill AI). I don't know the answer to any of those Qs but if you have a list of specific things you want to know that you can't find out, lemme know and I'll harass our peeps at Microsoft for some infoz.

I'd like to see someone try and do a better RTS than company of heroes.

company of heoeres > every RTS

I tried to play dawn of war again but it was just not as good after playing coh. Mucho spammo.
