Activision have announced a multiplayer beta for Call of Duty: World at War, with only a few weeks to go before the game hits shelves:
The dogs of war are being unleashed today, as Activision Publishing, Inc. (Nasdaq: ATVI) and developer Treyarch announced the launch of the multiplayer beta for Call of Duty: World at War on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft. Call of Duty fans that register to become members at www.callofduty.com are eligible to receive a token, but these tokens are limited in supply, so register today. Windows PC fans can expect a multiplayer beta soon. For more information about either beta and the opportunity to secure a beta token or key, fans can also visit www.callofduty.com/beta.A PC beta test is apparently also "coming soon". Given the rapidly approaching release date of November 12 it seems likely that the game will be going gold pretty soon, so it'll be interesting to see how much feedback from the beta is included in the retail release.

If you're talking about the historical accuracy, it's the silencers and "Aperture" (I think that's what they called them) sights (red dots) for a lot of the guns.

I suppose technically they are black dots, but i picked up a gun with one on it so i was like "wtf?" and then i got killed. The dogs aren't as bad as I thought the might have been, quick knife gets rid of them, I want to see what the bayonet is useful for though.

imo, theres not much in this that shouldn't have been inlcuded as dlc for cod 4.
in cod 4 they should have raised the xp limit, included new perks (especially that grenade timer reset one), new game types (CTF!) with the map pack.
though some of the new inclusions are pretty cool that might not have worked in cod 4, such as the dogs and vehicles.
sound design is really awesome though.
i will probably end up buying this cause i really like ctf, (even though most of the content should have been an expansion pack).
