We got a good sandblasting when getting hands-on with Spec Ops: The Line, so we returned the favour with a full video interview with Yager and 2K Games.

We know we recently posted a feature called "One Last Look: Fable 2", but it turns out we lied. Well, actually it was a combination of thinking we'd seen everything then walking into our Fable 2 hands-on session at TGS and being greeted by series creator, Peter Molyneux.

When he asked us what we knew of the game I ran him through a laundry list of all the viewings we had done and that, really, all we wanted to do was finally play the bloody thing. He obliged and asked that we sit down and just start playing while he spoke to us about the game-world, its unbelievably deep manifest of secrets, while he also ran us through the magic, combat and ranged combat system in excellent detail.

This is one of the best sessions we've ever been given access to, and although we're asking a lot (it's a whopping 30 minutes long), you'd be doing yourself a favour to check this video interview/hands-on out if you're even remotely interested in Fable 2. We don't have screenshots in the forums, silly.

This was a really great interview to sit through, I was stoked with what we ended up with (my camera work, so that's why the lighting's not the best =) ).

Steve let Peter know that he had already previewed the game a bunch of times, so Peter suggested that Steve just go hands on while he describes the goings on.

The bit that impressed me most, was when Peter enabled the debug free flying mode (something which obviously won't be in the final product), zoomed around the game world and everything was rendered seamlessly with the NPCs on the other side of the level revealed to still be performing all their little individually community functions.

Going into this I honestly wasn't too fussed about the game but now I'm really looking forward to it.

That was a pretty cool video, I wasn't particularly interested in the game either, but now I might give it a bash. Also, peter molyneux didn't come accross anywhere near as crazy as I thought he was :P

I still don't quite get why the dog is so important though.

I think the dog is not just there as an AI aid, but also as a reminder of just how important maintaining relationships throughout the game and game-world is. Above all else, the one thing I've gleamed from my countless run-ins with this game is that your relationships throughout are incredibly important - they make you a bigger part of the game; elevating the overall immersion.

awesome video really showed some interesting things, like how you can get people drunk and then conning them into giving you their worldly possessions.
