2K Games have given us a heads up the PlayStation 3 version of BioShock, which features updated visuals and new content, has finally gone gold with a release date here in Australia of October 17.

Any PS3 owners who missed one of the most celebrated games released in 2007 on both the Xbox 360 and PC platforms will have their very own, much improved version to sink their teeth into. A demo of the PS3 version will be made available on the PlayStation Network for download from October 2nd, if you're still not quite sold on the game. New content in the form of DLC will also hit the PS3 version following the game's release later in October.
