As mentioned in AusGamers recent hands-on preview, the upcoming James Bond film tie-in game Quantum of Solace is being built on the engine tech of the hugely successful first person shooter, Call of Duty 4.

Although the game itself will be very different to CoD 4, at the very least, we can expect Quantum of Solace to have similar graphical fidelity. Check out the latest developer diary trailer from Activision and Treyarch for a good overview on how they are trying to make the most of the CoD 4 technology in this new game.

I always thought that CoD4 was built using Unreal3 stuff. Not saying it is now, it's just interesting to learn.

Unreal 3 uses way too much processing power to run imo.

The CoD4 engine runs extremely well for how good it looks though.

Yeah, CoD4 has some really impressive environments while managing a consistent 60 frames per second. The night level on CoD4 where the SAS chopper crashes looks awesome, as does the Chernobyl one.

Haven't watched this trailer yet, but I'll check it out when I get home.

this game would have been cool if it were cel-shaded.
