We now know that Guitar Hero World Tour will see an Australian release on November 12 2008 - a feat that it's main opponent, EA's Rock Band series has yet to accomplish here Down Under. But how much will it cost?

While no official announcement has yet been made, AusGamers has word from a respectable source (who will remain anonymous) that the primary game and instrument bundle will retail here for AU$299 - a steep price for a single game perhaps but reasonable when compared to past rumored Rock Band prices that estimated $289 for the instrument peripherals alone.

In other Guitar Hero World Tour news, the Smashing Pumpkins will be debuting their new single G.L.O.W. as one of the first downloadable tracks for the game and a new trailer featuring Pumpkins frontman, Bill Corgan performing mo-cap for World Tour is now online. Additionally, SP's 93 hit Today has been confirmed for the retail game's setlist.

Lame .. Gamestop and Amazon rekon it'll be $100 cheaper in the US (189 + state tax).

Can you buy just the game, and use a GH3 controller? (ie. fuck the drums off for later?)

I think you can creepy. If this is true though, I am so getting this. Even though $300 is still a bit higher than the apparent $190 price tag of the US, i'm willing to pay the extra bit because shipping this from the US if it wasn't region coded would cost like close to $100 because of the huge weight so all i need now is to wait for November.
