Another flight combat game preview for you all today, this time with modern-day technology and then some in Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. - the first game in a new franchise from Ubisoft.

We got to check out H.A.W.X. at Leipzig recently and were treated to a half-hour demo of the game in action. H.A.W.X. features around 50 meticulously recreated aircraft - all fully licensed to ensure the most accurate experience possible. They range from some of the older Cold War-era jets like the MiG-25, all the way up to modern fighters like the F-35.

Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X. is due late this year on PC, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

So good to see a return in PC fighter sims.. Although its not really a sim.. Be great to see whats on the horizon for this sorely missed genre.

Yeh honestly there's not that many dogfights either - most of the combat is fast, long range, fire-and-forget sort of thing. I only saw one plane up close in combat and it was when he was buzzing past a b-52 at ultra-high speed. I didn't see any combat where you were shooting cannons for example.

Be great if they did a high res version of "topgun".. "i feel the need, the need, for speed"!
