A fully reimagined Prince of Persia has been unveiled and it's as stunning as ever thanks to the super creative force at Ubisoft Montreal. Introducing a new support character and opening up the game-world to include open-world portions as well as tight, linear action paths has created one of the more exciting prospects for games this year.

Add to this one of the most stunning art styles ever seen in a mainstream action game and you have a very, very unique title. We saw Prince running at this year's E3 in Ubi's booth, be sure to check out our thoughts on the game in this in-depth preview. You can also check out more media from our Prince of Persia game page.

As many times as people keep lining up to buy it, same with any game. This one looks really cool though; the last few games didn't really interest me but this has a lot of neat stuff. The one thing I'm not reaaaaaally sure if I'm keen on is the near-total inability for the Prince to get killed. I can see why they did it, to keep the momentum of the game going, but just seems like a bit of a newbymode copout.

I didn't actually see the Prince die at all so not sure if it's possible - but basically if you start falling off a cliff or something, the camera cuts to you falling and then you see the chick grab you and swing you back to safety. So yeh, it's not easy to die, but I'm not sure if it's impossible - Steve prolly knows, I didn't get to play it hands on, only sat through a couple demos.

yer what trog said. when you fall off a cliff the chick uses her magic to save you. no idea if you can die in battles though

it's not an immediate save. you could have progressed a fair way through a gauntlet of impediments and fall, she'll grab you and save you, but you're reset all the way back to the last stable platform you were on. So it's still a kind of non-reward system, they just wanted to have no "game over" screens or lives system.

Eh, can't say I'm really surprised, most games seem to hold your fucking hand the whole way through anyway.

Do you seriously think that they would make a game where it is IMPOSSIBLE for you to die. Obviously you would be able to die in battles etc... LOL as if they wouldn't include that hahahahaa...

You still "die", its just instead of a "Game over" screen coming up and you choosing "Restart from last checkpoint" it smoothly returns you to your last checkpoint with an ingame "The chick reaches out and saves you" cutscene, so it doesn't break the immersion or interupt the flow. Like how you know in the original Sands of Time, when you died, there was a voice over by the Prince saying something like "No, no, thats not what happened" like he'd just told the story wrong, and needs to retell that bit. Its just that taken a step furthur.
