At today's Electronic Arts E3 2008 press conference, John Carmack took the stage to announce that id Software would be teaming up with EA Partners to publish their next big game, Rage. No mention of why they've departed from long time publisher Activision however.

While still quiet on many of the game's details, a new in-game trailer was screened and it was confirmed that the setting of the game is a Mad Max style post-apocalyptic world.

For now, a couple of concept art images can be found on our Rage game page but hopefully we'll see an official release of the new trailer.

EA are publishing. hopefully id software have enough clout to tell them not to rush them for release dates

Some sort of falling out after the Blizzard merger? Rather, that Vivendi being the ultimate masters, were dictating terms that id didn't like?
